PA Congressmen Turn Their Backs on Small Businesses Owners

Two Pennsylvania Representatives—Rep. Patrick Meehan and Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick—recently sided with union bosses and voted against H.R. 2587, the Protecting Jobs from Government Interference Act. It’s clear that opposing H.R. 2587 means turning your back on Pennsylvania’s small business owners.

H.R. 2587 would have prevented the National Labor Relations Board from dictating to American companies where they can create jobs. It was introduced in response to the NLRB’s decision to target Boeing for opening a manufacturing facility in right-to-work South Carolina.  While Pennsylvania isn’t a right-to-work state, the Boeing decision sets a dangerous precedent for every state in America.  If the NLRB is able to successfully target Boeing, no business in the United States is safe from this rogue agency’s pro-union mandates.

Voters are watching how Rep. Fitzpatrick, Rep. Meehan, and other Members of Congress are voting on workforce fairness issues. They are outraged when legislators support the NLRB in its attempts to cater to union bosses and enact job-killing regulations. It is workers and small business owners who will suffer the most if the NLRB isn’t reigned in—now.

Congress will be considering many other important labor issues over the remainder of the legislative session. We need to urge Rep. Fitzpatrick, Rep. Meehan, and every other Member of Congress to do the right thing and stand with Pennsylvania’s workers and business owners instead of supporting the union line.  We’re your constituency—and we’re watching.
