Sen. Isakson Blasts Big Labor for Influencing NMB

In a recent interview on Main Street Radio’s “Battle Line with Alan Nathan” Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson points out that the National Mediation Board (NMB), filled with Obama Administration Big Labor friends, has sought to violate the Federal Aviation Administration Modernization and Reform Act. The NMB proposes invalidating the law, thereby moving the threshold for worker approval of a union vote back to 35%.  They argue that the law doesn’t apply in this case since passage took place after the Delta and Northwest Airlines merger in 2008.

“So now they’re trying to say that the vote remains at 35% because the law passed after that merger took place,” said Sen. Isakson. “But, that’s just trying to figure out a way not to make the tougher number of 50 percent versus 35.”

“It’s like saying a minority opinion is a majority opinion in the Supreme Court. They’re attempting to legislate through regulation.”
