Even After Obama Giveaways, Union Membership Hits All-Time Low
Washington, D.C. – Workforce Fairness Institute (WFI) spokesperson Heather Greenaway released the following statement today in response to a report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showing union membership rates have hit an all-time low:
“After eight years of handouts to Big Labor under President Obama, more workers are walking away from unions and choosing workplace freedom. New data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows just 10.7 percent of American workers were members of labor unions in 2016, following years of drastic decline. Just as more states are passing right-to-work laws, American workers are also making their voices heard and deciding against forming collective bargaining units after Big Labor has fallen short on its promises, hurt employees and small businesses alike, and benefitted the bosses as opposed to the rank and file.”
