WFI Praises House Vote Blocking Obama-Era Contracting Rules

“The Workforce Fairness Institute today applauded a bipartisan vote in the U.S. House blocking the ‘blacklisting rule’ issued by the Obama Administration.  This misguided rule punitively punished employers to the benefit of labor bosses and disregarded rules already in existence for the purpose of protecting workers, while also holding government contractors to account.  Today’s vote is progress in unwinding a series of actions undertaken by the previous administration that sent a message to workers and businesses alike that the government was not on their side.  For America’s economy to grow and employers to have greater confidence, leaders in the executive and legislative branches must show they are on the side of workers and job creators, and blocking the ‘blacklisting rule’ is a solid step in the right direction.”
