Acosta Confirmation Hearing Shows He’s The Right Man For Labor Department Job
Washington, D.C. – Workforce Fairness Institute (WFI) spokesperson Heather Greenaway released the following statement in response to today’s confirmation hearing in the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions concerning Alexander Acosta’s nomination for U.S. Secretary of Labor:
“Today’s hearing demonstrated that Alexander Acosta is the man for the job at the U.S. Department of Labor. His accomplished legal record and tenure as a former member of the National Labor Relations Board make him uniquely qualified to take the helm of the Labor Department, and begin the process of rolling back years of crippling regulations and bureaucratic red tape. We are confident that he has the background and expertise to fight for workers and advance pro-growth policies that further everyday Americans’ interests, not those of Big Labor bosses. His responses today demonstrate that he deserves broad bipartisan support and we look forward to the committee’s swift vote in favor of confirmation.”
